Can I borrow Journals for overnight or for a short period?
No, Journals are for reference only inside the library
Can I suggest the name of the books for purchase in the library?
Yes, you are welcome to suggest any books for purchase in the library as per the syllabus and the same will be place for LAC approval for procurement.
What are the library opening hours and the specific hours for issue/return of books?
The Library is open from 8.00 A.M. to 6.00 P.M. on regular working days, and from 8.00 A.M. to 4.00 P.M. on Saturdays/holidays.
Issue/ return of books from Monday to Friday will be from 09:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. and on Saturdays will be from 09:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
What can I do if I have lost the book borrowed from the Library?
You have to replace the lost book with a new copy.
How can I locate the books or journals in the Library?
You can browse through the Web OPAC or the OPAC terminals in the library and approach the assistant librarian in person for further assistance.
How can I donate books or other materials to the library?
Only useful books are accepted as gifts/donations with the permission of the Principal.
How can I pay my fine?
Overdue books are fines @ ₹2/- per day per book to be paid to Account section. New books will not be issued unless you deposit the accumulated fine.
Are there computers I can use for accessing digital resources?
Yes, Computers are kept in the Virtual Learning Centre for accessing digital resources.
How can I get a new card, in case I lost it?
You can apply for duplicate card which on payment of a nominal fee.
Are there any rules for exempting of library fine?
No, fine exemption is granted except in exceptional circumstances.
If due date and return of books is during the vacation period, how can I renew the books?
Library has special provisions to issue books for vacation period. Users should ask for this special issue with prior permission from the Principal before proceeding on vacation.
What is NLIST and what it covers?
NLIST stands for "National Library and Information services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content" It provides access to more than 6000+ Journals, 19,9,500 e-Books under NLIST and 6,00,000 e - books under NDL.
How to access e - resources from NLIST?
Users will have to click on Member's Login through NLIST Website http://nlist.inflibnet.ac.in/ and login with the valid user ID and password. It will display list of e-resources subscribed under the programme. Click at the desired e-resource to access its full-text. Refer to the user guide and tutorials for further details.
What are the subjects covered under NLIST?
The N-LIST covers all the disciplines viz. Pure Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities including Linguistic and Languages. However e-resources in engineering, agriculture and medicine are not covered under the N-LIST programme.
Can I share my User ID and passwords with my friends?
No. It is advisable not to share your login ID and Password with your friends. The publishers keep track of no. of downloads as well as simultaneous usage of your login ID and Password from multiple sites. In cases of violation / improper use, the publisher may disable your access permanently.
Can I login to these resources from home?
Yes, you can use these e-resources from anywhere and anytime 24 x 7.
I am having problem finding articles and books from NLIST, where can I get help?
You can download the User Guide and Tutorials for each e-resource from NLIST Website http://nlist.inflibnet.ac.in/ . You may also use the search and browse journals and book titles and can always contact the Librarian or Assistant Librarian or N-LIST officials for any further information.
