E-Gate entry Portal
To save the time of the users, the Central Library facilitates the using ILMS-KOHA to record the number of users who visits the library. Users are to scan the barcode from their ID card to login into the E-Gate entry portal kept at the entrance and logout before they exit the library.
Digital Library
To ensure the digital information remains accessible and authentic on long term basis, A Digital Library was developed to manage, preserve and disseminate the rich in-house collection of the intellectual outputs of the academic community like research reports, images, news clippings, faculty publications, student’s projects, photograph, video recording, syllabus archive, question paper archive etc.
Book Bank
Central Library maintains a book bank mainly of undergraduate level text books to help students belonging to economically and socially weaker sections of the society for one academic session.
Circulation Service

The Library provides the facility of Issue, Return, Renewal and Reservation of books through the latest Barcode technology to all the library members.

Books are issued to all eligible members, 2 books for students for a period of 7 (Seven) days, 5 books for faculty members for 30 days and 3 books for college staff for 30 days.

Reference books, bound volumes, question papers are for reference only.

SMS & e-mail alert system for every transaction to the users' i.e. Issue, return, renewal, etc of books with necessary information. For overdue books, reminder will be send to the user along with the fine amount.
WEB OPAC- Online Cataloque

Library catalogue is accessible online at https://www.library.shillongcollege.ac.in/ which uses KOHA software for library automation under cloud computing.
NLIST

The consortium subscribes to about 6000+journals,1,99,500+3books under NLIST and about 6,00,000+ e-books through the National Digital Library of India, Major publishers like JSTORE, Oxford University press, Cambridge University press, Cambridge book online, Taylor and Francis e-books and many other can access on campus network or remotely by all registered members.
Inter Library Loan (ILL)

The Library facilitates the Inter Library Loan (ILL) facility from American Library Centre, Kolkata and IASLIC, New Delhi, DELNET, New Delhi.
CCTV Surveillance Sytem

The whole premises of the library are under Surveillance of CCTV. There are a total of 20 CCTV'S in the library.
Virtual Learning Centre

The Library facilitates a Virtual Learning Centre equipped with 31 computers with internet facilities, access to e-resources, e-books, e-journals, e- Shodhsindhu consortium, e-syllabus/syllabus during college hours.
Wi-Fi Lounge

The library facilitates A Wi-Fi lounge with internet access, members can use their own laptops, tablets, Smartphone or another device to access the e-information.
Remote Access Facility

The library facilitates the remote access facility. Members can logging using their username and password to access the library e-resources remotely available @ library.shillongcollege.ac.in

The Library facilitates scanning, printing and photocopying service to all its members, walk-in users and others.

User Service

The library being the service provider, organized various information literacy programmes like orientation/education programmes, faculty development programmes, workshops, conference, educational tour and book fair from time to time to promote the use of resources and to familiarize them with the knowledge on how to access and acquire skills in implementing them for their daily project works and class room activities.
